9 years ago when I wrote the requiem post, I truly intended it to be the last.  After all, with all of those great tablets out there, who could ever expect to have a need for small, low-power laptops ever again?

How wrong I was.  When the world went into lockdown in March, 2020, what was the first piece of technology to have demand far outstrip supply?  Why, Chromebooks of course!

It seems that with ubiquitous high-speed internet, a lightweight notebook, or NetBook, as they were once called, was exactly what everyone needed, especially students and teachers.

While one of my favorite bands, Rush was not the first to say it, I will use them as the source... Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.  The more that things change, the more they stay the same.
